Student Journey
What does the Gustave Eiffel Academy Student Journey look like?
You Are Here
Our student journey begins as your child enters Eiffel in grades 1 - 8. Through language immersion, your student will acquire fluency in French and/or English depending on their native language. Along with their immersion in francophone culture, students will receive instruction in Florida state standards and Spanish language.
Checkpoint | Brevet Diploma
Prepare your child to go global as they complete grade 8! As Eiffel Academy students complete middle school, we we prepare them to take the prestigious French brevet exam one year early. Acquiring the brevet diploma satisfies the French naturalization language requirement, allowing for easy transition to a French high school In a francophone country. Should they choose to live in a non-francophone country, the diploma is a testimony to their academic ability and builds their college resumes.
Adapting the French System
Gustave Eiffel Academy embraces the french system but leave the door open for a U.S. education.
In the French system, students usually take the Brevet exam after their 9th grade year, or troisième. However, our goal is to administer the exam after the 8th grade year, or quatrième, so if students choose to enter U.S. high school, they can do so with a diploma showcasing mastery of French curriculum and language.
Next Steps | Lycée & Beyond
It’s time for high school, ou lycée, and your child has options. Your child may transition to a partner American high school where they continue to AP French* OR your child may move abroad to continue their education in a francophone region. In some cases, they may be permitted to skip a grade and enter lycée. With continued support, your student can take the BAC at the end of their last year of school.
*Eiffel is in the process of securing partnerships at local U.S. high schools.
