A Message from Our Head of School

BIENVENUE | BIENVENIDO

It gives me great pleasure today to introduce myself and Gustave Eiffel Academy.

For the past 20 years, I have worked for the French Ministry of Education in schools in the AEFE network.

Each of my expatriations has been an opportunity to discover a new culture, a local education system and different, alternative, innovative teaching methods.

In Bali, I came to understand the importance of community life, of helping and sharing. I took part in the school's development in science and physical education.

In Vanuatu, I witnessed the sincerity of the people, despite significant socio-cultural differences. Entering the classroom was a multicultural immersion where each child offered a part of himself to build a common transcendent culture.

Mauritius is all about joie de vivre, a constant invitation to share, regardless of religion. One of my missions has been to develop the school's digital environment and train teachers in the pedagogically efficient use of new technologies.

In Qatar, kindness and respect are fundamental values. At school, I was a PE teacher in junior high and high school, then Deputy Head of a 33-classroom campus.

Here in St Petersburg, I spent 4 years as a teacher and pedagogical coordinator at a developing school. I put all my energy into it, and thanks to a solid team, the school was approved by the French Ministry in no time.

These different experiences have enabled me to master the skills needed to set up a school. This is Gustave Eiffel Academy. Eiffel Academy is a multilingual international school where English and French will be the main languages used and developed. It aims to be a bridge, a transition between the French and American systems, or other international schools.

I understand parents who invest in multilingualism for their children's education, and the fears and questions that come with it: Would my child do well in a French school? How would he adapt in an American school? Would he be comfortable in a school with an international curriculum?

The answer is YES! This is the purpose of our school, the reason for its existence.

This school is unlike any other in the region, as it is based on the Florida curriculum for Core Subjects: English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science.

On the French side, Eiffel Academy has set up a partnership with the Centre National d'Enseignement à Distance (CNED), and students are enrolled in the Scolarité Complémentaire Internationale: they follow the French curriculum for mathematics, French and history-geography-moral and civic education. The teaching team cross-references the French and American programs to avoid repetition.

Eiffel Academy maintains high academic standards, but is also committed to developing two key areas: the arts and sport. Time spent in these two areas is higher than at most other schools. Students take part in extra-curricular events such as concerts, museum visits, running races. Small class sizes enable us to adapt to each student's individual needs, as well as to their plans and those of their parents for their future schooling.

The main aim of education is to provide children with a learning environment that enables them to give the best of themselves, and this is at the heart of our team's work every day.

Welcome
